Here’s a brilliantly artistic solution to the design of a high-voltage power transmission system. The design company Choi + Shine created this marvel of engineering in Iceland. Here art transforms mundane electrical pylons into statues on the Icelandic landscape by making only small alterations to existing pylon design.The pylons are created from a standardized library of parts, so that they can be arrayed in a wide variety of poses and expressions in response to the environment, Subtle alterations in the hands and head combined with repositioning of the main body parts in the x, y and z-axis, allow for a rich variety of expressions.
